William and Wilber grew up on a farm about 150 miles from Bogotá, with no running water and no electricity. They walked an hour each way to school and stopped going at 11 to work the farm full time.
After their army service, they moved to the capital and found work behind a butcher's counter.
Jorge and Carlos grew up in the city, raised by a single mother and her close-knit family in a working-class neighborhood. Both went to good public schools, then on to college.
