Walt gathered his staff to work out how to handle crowds. He invited the reporters back, with their families, to see the park and the attractions that had been closed on opening day.
The ticket problem got a fix too. New tickets were printed with special backgrounds and patterns that were much harder to copy.
Then the public answered. By the end of July, Disneyland was averaging more than 20,000 visitors a day. It welcomed its millionth guest seven weeks after Black Sunday, and 3.6 million in its first year.

In July 2025, Disneyland turned 70. It had opened with fake tickets, soft asphalt and almost nothing to drink.
It just needed a second day.
