By 2015, Bill Moore was 90 years old, living in an assisted care facility in Aurora, Colorado. Seventy years before that, he'd been a young soldier fighting through Europe as part of Patton's Third Army — one of millions of men writing letters home from a war most of them weren't certain they'd survive.
