An address in a shoebox led Maloof to Lane and Matthew Gensburg, the brothers who had placed the obituary.
Vivian Maier, it turned out, had been a nanny. For about 40 years she looked after children on Chicago's North Shore. She stayed with the Gensburg family for more than 15 years.
In her spare time, she walked the streets and took pictures.
