In Fantasyland, Peter Pan's Flight and the Dumbo ride broke down or never opened. Over in Tomorrowland, still unfinished, the Rocket to the Moon was closed.
On the river, the Mark Twain riverboat took on far more people than it was built for. By one account, about 500 crammed aboard. The boat rocked from side to side, slipped off its track and settled into the mud.
Then came a gas leak. Fantasyland and other parts of the park were closed for a few hours while it was dealt with.
