Live, With Everything

The broadcast, called Dateline: Disneyland, ran for 90 minutes on ABC. Its hosts were Art Linkletter, Bob Cummings and a young actor named Ronald Reagan.

It did not go smoothly either. Guests tripped over camera cables. Cues were missed, lines were flubbed and microphones were left on when they should not have been.

At one point, Walt began dedicating Tomorrowland, and a technician off camera stopped him. "I thought I got a signal," Walt said, and started again.

He spent the day focused on the show. He did not find out how bad things had been until later.
