Out on Bond, in Reno, That February

In November 1975, Halbower had been arrested in Reno for raping a blackjack dealer. When Michelle was killed on February 24, 1976, he was free on bond, awaiting trial. The FBI also disclosed that his DNA matched the murders of three young women in California from the same period, a series attributed to an unidentified "Gypsy Hill killer." Veronica Cascio's body was found on January 8, 1976. Paula Baxter's was found on February 4. Michelle was killed twenty days later.
