No Tape, No Signature — Only Testimony

Woods went on trial in Washoe County in 1980. The prosecution relied almost entirely on her confession and on records showing she had been working in Reno at the time. There was no recording of that confession and no written statement from Woods. A detective testified to what she had told him: that she offered to help Michelle with her car, lured her into the garage with a story about tools, made a sexual advance, and cut her throat when Michelle refused.
