The Trainer Behind the Camera

The program's director at Fuji TV had been at Sugadaira in 2007 as a student trainer for the club when Sugita was hurt. Twelve years later, learning of the climb, she proposed the film. It aired on September 26, 2019, and won the top entertainment prize at the 46th Hoso Bunka Foundation Awards. Sugita won the performer award; the judges cited his rugby way of living: "fall down and get back up."
