No Third Trial

On March 6, 2015, the Washoe County District Attorney's Office dismissed the charges. District Attorney Chris Hicks said he did not fault the police, prosecutors and juries who sent Woods to prison, because they had not had DNA. Her public defender, Maizie Pusich, said Woods was relieved and trying to figure out what came next — including how to use email and laptop computers. She hoped to travel to Louisiana that April for her mother's 92nd birthday. As for the confession, Pusich said Woods did not remember making it. She had been told it was "a product of wanting to get a private room."
